Cultural Connection presents Zaid Farouki
Zaid Farouki’s creativity and passion for art emerged during his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the American University’s KOGOD School of Business. While pursuing his degree, he explored painting, sculpting, and multimedia through a Studio Art minor. His love for fashion led him to Milan, where he honed his design skills at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni, and later specialized in couture techniques at Central Saint Martins in London. Zaid’s creative journey began with wearable art, and during his time in Milan, he realized his passion for art could be seamlessly integrated into fashion. Initially focused on womenswear, his brand, Zaid Farouki, has since evolved to offer inclusive designs under the RTW label Zaid by Zaid Farouki.
Zaid Farouki has since built a distinguished career, earning widespread recognition and support from prestigious organizations such as the Arab Fashion Council and Arab Fashion Week. His work includes the acclaimed I AM SHARQI collection series, created in collaboration with regional poets and artists. Zaid's designs have gained international attention, with exclusive collections available in global markets and notable appearances on high-profile runways. His work was also featured in major regional and global publications, further solidifying his status as a visionary in the fashion industry.
Fusing Eastern and Western traditions, the brand creates distinctive, forward-thinking designs that serve as a bridge between cultures. His creations are both a celebration of rich cultural heritage and a testament to resilience in the face of adversity. Through his work, Zaid evokes a sense of time and place while reflecting on how traditions are constructed, maintained, and remembered.
